“Another interesting observation is that we assumed players would want to raid bat nests to collect seeds,
but in practice it's a more effective emergent strategy to feed Cycots as many seeds as possible so they will
reproduce and increase biomass. In emergent systems, it can be very hard to predict how everything will come
together, and in this case we felt the emergent strategy was appropriate to the game's themes, so we didn't at-
tempt to return it to our original intentions.

mately felt it was too similar to the cave fisher (known as Larians in the game we shipped) in terms of how it
contributed to gameplay.
