Due to all these advantages we can point out
that the Business Simulator SIMBA emerges as
a powerful training tool since it meets many of
the demands set by high quality education. More-
over, its playful and competitive environment
provides a high degree of satisfaction and involve-
ment, both for the student and the professor.
“Learning by playing” is the golden rule that
guarantees success.
But not all are advantages. The main challenges
associated with the use of business simulators are:
They require a minimum technological in-
frastructure depending on the simulator.
If their use is complemented by mentor-
ing support to participants, this activ-
ity becomes a labor-intensive teaching
Even though the above-mentioned benefits
have made simulators an innovative educational
tool, the needs perceived in the educational market
at all levels, and the continuous technological
development and innovation in this type of tools,
suggest new evolutionary trends:
High development cost.
Implement Artificial Intelligence algo-
rithms to improve the tool and, gradually,
its behavior. This is aimed, in short, at emu-
lating users' behavior in the decision-mak-
ing process, feeding this information back
The design of an effective training method-
ology to exploit their potential.
The need to train instructors in both the
tool and the teaching methodology.
