Thankfully, the Info panel gives you the live update of the color
value of the pixel that your cursor is currently over, after apply-
ing all effects. After darkening the darkest point, I then made a
slight S-curve in the small, remaining part of the curve to boost
the contrast. The results look much better (Fig. 6.60).
